29 August 2018, commemoration at B&B  'In 't Stille Weg' of the USA troops who fought and fell at the Battle of Vierstraat Ridge, Kemmel, the only battle of the Dough Boys in the Ypres Salient in WW1.
The ceremony was attended by a representative of the US Ambassador, the mayor and aldermans of Heuvelland, the Comisionar of the Great War Commemorations in Belgium Mr. P. Breyne, schoolchildren of Kemmel and an US military colour party.
The 27th and 30th US Divisions are honoured at the Vierstraat US Memorial. After arriving at the Western Front in May 1918, the divisions served with the British Army. Their participation in the Ypres-Lys Offensive began when the 30th Division took position in the line on August 18, and the 27th on August 23. The Allied advance began on August 31.
Both divisions met determined German resistance. They moved forward slowly. That afternoon the 27th Division reached the area where the Kemmel Monument stands. They advanced against German forces on the 1st September 
The 27th Division was relieved on September 3, and the 30th the next day. 27th Division ("Orion") counted about 1300 casualties, the 30th Division ("Old Hickory") about 800 casualties. Many of them are buried at the American cemetery at Waregem. Lest We Forget.

Op 29 augustus 2018 werd een kleine herdenking gehouden op B&B 't Stil Genot (Kemmel) voor de Amerikaanse troepen die vochten en sneuvelden bij de Battle of Vierstraat Ridge, de enige slag waar de Amerikanen bij betrokken waren in de Ieperboog.
De ceremonie werd bijgewoond door een vertegenwoordiger van de Amerikaanse ambassadeur, de burgemeester van Heuvelland, de Commisaris voor de Herdenking van WO-1 dhr. P. Breyne, lokale schoolkinderen en een militaire standaarddragers van het Amerikaanse leger.
De 27e en 30e Amerikaanse divisies worden herdacht op het Vierstraat US Memorial. Nadat ze aan het Westelijk front arriveerden in mei 1918, dienden ze onder Brits bevel. Hun deelname aan het Leie-offensief begon met de 30e Divisie die op 18 augustus zijn positie aan de frontlijn innam en de 27e Divisie op 23 augustus. The geallieerde aanval begon op 31 augustus 1918.
Beide divisies stootten op zware Duitse tegenstand. Ze kwamen slechts traag vooruit. 's Namiddags bereikte de 27e Divisie de omgeving waar nu het monument staat. Ze vielen de Duitse linies aan op 1 september.
De 27e Divisie werd afgelost op 3 september, de 30e Divisie de volgende dag. De 27e Divisie ''Orion') telde zowat 1300 slachtoffers, de 30e Divisie ('Old Hickory') zowat 800. Velen van hen zijn begraven op de Amerikaanse bergaafplaats te Waregem.
