After the ANZAC Day ceremony at the NZ Memorial at Messines, a short tribute to the Belgian fallen was done at the local Belgian War Memorial by the New Zealand and Belgian officials. The Belgian 'Au Champs' (equivalent of the British Last Post) was played by buglers of local Fire Brigade and wreaths were laid. Subsequently all paid tribute as well at to the New Zealand soldiers at the statue of the New Soldier in the town square at Messines
Na de ANZAC DAY ceremonie aan het Nieuw Zeeland Gedenkteken te Mesen werd ook een korte ceremonie gehouden aan het gemeentelijk oorlogsmonument door de Nieuw Zeelandse delegatie en de Belgische lokale overheid. Het Belgische 'Te Velde' werd gespeeld door de klaroeners van de lokale brandweer en kransen werden neergelegd. Daarna werd eveneen,s een korte ceremonie met kranslegging gedaan bij het beeld van de Nieuw Zeelandse soldaat op hetzelfde dorpsplein.
