Headstone Rededication Ceremony - Passendale - 26/09/2017
26/09/2017 - Passendale
On Tuesday morning 26/06/2017, a Headstone Rededication Ceremony took place at Tyne Cot Cemetery at Passendale. Two Australian soldiers finally got a headstone with their name on it and this thanks to the efforts of the Fallen Diggers Organisation. It are Lance Corporal James Allan Launchbury and Private Charles Gordon Williams. Both soldiers were part of the 25th Machine Gun Company - 1st Australian Imperial Force and died on 05/10/1917.

After this ceremony, the delegation stopped at two other headstones, in both cases recipients of the Victoria Cross: Captain Clarence Smith Jeffries and Sergeant Lewis McGee. Here the VIP's planted crosses at the bottom of the headstones.
