Trench of Death 1915-2015 Museum weekend - Kaaskerke - 09/05/2015
In May 2015, it will be just one hundred years ago that some Belgian attacks on German petrol tanks led to the digging of a trench in the Yser dike. The trench was rapidly nicknamed Trench of Death. In order to place these events in context the Royal Military Museum organized a Museum weekend Trench of Death 1915-2015.

On May 9 and 10, you were able to discover the life and death of those who fought at the front and in the trenches of the First World War. Belgian and German soldiers told moving and lively stories. You could visit the trenches accompanied by a professional guide: he revealed all the secrets of this unique site and its exciting history. You could have a picture taken in an old uniform or attend the nocturne on Saturday night. Or go for a walk on the former battlefields, tracing the steps of Belgian and German soldiers in 1915.
