New film and exhibitions at Talbot House - Poperinge - 30/05/2015
We were invited to Talbot House on Friday 29 May 2015 for the presentation of the new film and the opening of three temporary exhibitions.

Summer of watercolour

In Talbot House, the summer months of 2015 are entirely dedicated to art and nature. In the Oastroom our visitors will be able to enjoy the second part of "Rites of Spring", an watercolour art-exhibition by artist Guy Gruwier. Visitors that like to paint themselves are welcome to find inspiration in the garden of Talbot House. There are even workshops in watercolour & pastel painting by Guy Gruwier.

At the same time, and also in the Oastroom, a small historical exhibition will be held on the history of the garden of Talbot House.

Chaplains during the Great War

In this temporary exhibition the profession of a chaplain during the great war (and today) is explained. On both sides of the front, chaplains did their very best to help soldiers forget about the War for a while. Every one of these men had their own method of doing this, their own unique character.

In this exhibition you will learn about Philip "Tubby" Clayton and his - sometimes very excentric - colleagues, both locally and abroad.
