Rededication Captain Ernest Parry (Frank Mahieu) - Sint-Juliaan - 13/10/2022
On Oct. 12th 2022, at Dochy Farm New British Cemetery (Langemark) a rededication ceremony was held for Captain Ernest Charles Parry of the 1st. Battalion Auckland Infantry Regiment (16th Waikato Coy). He was killed on 6 October 1917, aged 31, at the Battle of Passchendaele (3rd Battle of Ypres). Captain Parry, who was from Paeroa (North Island of New Zealand), is commemorated on the New Zealand Tyne Cot Memorial to the missing but until now had no known grave. Thanks to the research of Freddy Deklerck of the NZPT Capt. Parry has been identified and now finally has a known grave.

Master of Ceremony was Wing Commander Gareth Russell, RNZAF, and the service was conducted by Revd. Andrew McMullon of St. George's Memorial Church, Ypres. The ceremony was, amongst others, attended by H. E Diane Reaich, the New Zealand Ambassador, also by Group Captain John Dickson British Military attaché and other local civil and military officials. As usual the CWGC provided the new headstone of which they will take care for ever. LEST WE FORGET

Op 12 oktober 2022 werd op Dochy Farm New British Cemetery (Langemark) een herinwijdingsceremonie gehouden voor Captain Ernest Charles Parry van het 1st. Battalion Auckland Infantry Regiment. Hij sneuvelde op 6 oktober 1917 op de leedftijd van 31 jaar in de Slag van Passendale  (3e Slag bij Ieper). De ceremonie werd geleid door Wing Commander Gareth Russel (RNZAF) en voorgegaan in gebed door Rev. Andrew McMullon. De Nieuw Zeelandse Ambassadeur, H. E. Diana Reaich woonde de plechtigheid bij alsook de Britse Militaire Attaché Group Captain John  Dickson en verschillende lokale militaire en burgerlijke autoriteiten. De CWGC zorgde zoals steeds voor de nieuwe grafsteen die ze, samen met alle andere, zal blijven verzorgen voorgoed. LEST WE FORGET
