Westhof farm was used as Headquarters, New Zealand Division, in May and June, 1917. The cemetery was begun in May, 1917, and used by fighting units and Field Ambulances until April, 1918, when it passed for five months into enemy hands. There are now over 100, 1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site. Special memorials are erected to four soldiers from the United Kingdom and two from New Zealand whose graves in the cemetery were destroyed by shell fire. The cemetery covers an area of 534 square metres.
